First day in a city

Sakrol was now in Gaia, the realm that differs greatly from the Otherworld. This is the first time Sakrol has ever been in Gaia and only knows a few things about it that he has heard through rumors. The rumors he had heard usually involved huge pillars were people would live, strange machines the people would use and many other creatures that only live in Gaia. Sakrol took a good look at his surroundings, the first rumor proved true. He was surrounded by huge tall pillars that had windows, doors and balconies on them. He then wanted to know if the other two rumors were true, it was day time so finding some people wasn´t hard as Sakrol followed the sound of traffic.

Sakrol stumbled to the main street were different people constantly walked around and drove their cars through the traffic. Sakrol looked around a bit and noticed that the people around here and there were not the usual demons, angels and spirits that he can find in his homeworld. The two other rumors were indeed true, Sakrol had no idea what the other races were but that didn´t concern him right now. He then decided to walk around the city and take a good look how this world works.

Sakrol visited many stores around the city ranging from a clothes store to a food store, he was surprised how easy it was to get new clothes and food in this world  though Sakrol did learn that people had to pay money for these goods. Sakrol continued his sightseeing until he took a break in the local park, it was nice and quiet in there. He sat on a bench in the park and he noticed a fountain with a huge bird statue on top of it in the middle of the park. After a while Sakrol continued his sightseeing, he noticed a castle in the distance and walked towards it. Sakrol looked at the castle up close and it was truly a glorious castle, above the castle´s main door was a huge sign that said "Museum". Then Sakrol noticed that the sun was setting, he had to go and find a place where he could stay and sleep.

As night fell the streets were becoming empty, Sakrol walked in a empty sidestreet looking for a place to sleep. But then Sakrol heard a growling noise behind him and he turned around to see what it was. There was a dark orange colored wolf in front of Sakrol and it didn´t seem happy. Sakrol looked at the growling wolf. A wolf? In a place like this? How curious... But then he noticed that it wasn´t just an average wolf. Hmm... I can sense that you are not just an animal. What are you or how about WHO are you? The wolf didn´t answer, it continued growling at Sakrol. If your going to be like that, I think I´ll just leave you here... Sakrol turned his back at the wolf and continued walking but then the wolf jumped at Sakrol in a attacking manner. Sakrol drew his sword and turned around quickly slashing the wolf back. The wolf whined but was quickly up on it´s feet again, though it had a bleeding wound on it´s chest now. Was that your great plan just now? You will regret attacking me behind my back... Sakrol readied himself as the wolf tried attacking Sakrol multiple times but was always slashed back with a simple sword swing. Are you ever gonna stop? Your shedding blood all over the place and you just lost an eye too... The wolf didn´t care, it jumped at Sakrol in a desperate final attack but Sakrol caught the wolf´s neck and slammed the wolf to the ground while still keeping a hold on it. Sakrol then raised his sword high up and said. I don´t suppose you got any last words so goodbye! Sakrol then cut the wolf´s head off with a powerful swing. Sakrol cleansed his sword from blood and walked away from the wolf´s body.

Sakrol walked around until he found an abandoned building, it was smaller compared to the other buildings around it and it had cracks on the walls and broken dirty windows. Sakrol proceeded inside and climbed the stairs to the second floor where he went into a room with a broken window. The whole building was indeed empty, only dust and cobwebs could be found. Sakrol went to sit in a corner in the room and closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Sakrol was in a deep sleep, time had already passed midnight but it was still quite dark in the small hours of the morning. A loud screeching noise coming from downstairs woke Sakrol up, he drew his sword in a startled manner and breathed heavily. He wondered what the noise was all about so he started walking slowly towards the stairs with his sword ready to defend himself. Sakrol slowly and quietly climbed the stairs down, when the noise repeated itself. It was coming from the buildings basement and as Sakrol went closer to the basement´s door he noticed that there was coming light from it´s cracks. The light soon disappeared as if it was moving even deeper into the basement. Sakrol slowly opened the door and took a look down into the basement´s stairs, he then started walking down the stairs and he could see the strange light again. Sakrol had enough of sneaking around and so he rushed into the basement with his sword up front.

Well now, rats in a place like this. How fitting... The strange light was coming from a pack of 5 huge rats that were on fire. The burning rats started screeching at Sakrol aggressively. You woke me up, so I think you deserve to be punished. With a quick death! Sakrol rushed towards the rats and plunged his sword through one of the rats, killing it instantly and the flames on it disappeared. Sakrol pulled his sword out of the dead rat and pointed it´s tip at the other rats. Sakrol was full of confidence. So, which one of you is next? The 4 other rats screeched loudly in unison and they attacked Sakrol from 4 different directions. Sakrol was only able to fend off one of the attacking rats while the other 3 bit Sakrol on his left arm, right shoulder and right leg leaving deep wounds and burns. Sakrol shoke them off but then the rats were already preparing another similar attack, he realized that the 4 rats were too fast for him although they didn´t do too much damage. The rats were probably planning to kill Sakrol slowly but surely... Sakrol could not fend off all 4 of them, so he made a decision to use a spell. Sakrol rised his sword and summoned dark rain clouds that started to rain water on the flaming rats, extinguishing their flames and lowering their speed due to cold water. It was Sakrol´s Cold Rain ability that was more than enough to turn the tables of this fight. Sakrol then proceeded to slay the rats one by one with his sword, the rats tried to escape in fear but Sakrol was able to catch them and kill them.

The basement was now all wet and blood mixed with the water, the floor became red in color. Sakrol sheathed his sword and walked back up the stairs to the second floor with a smile on his face, he sat down on the corner again and started healing his wounds. Sakrol looked outside the broken window and looked how the sun was rising in the city, the sounds of traffic were starting again as the city was slowly waking up. He then started to wonder what those burning rats really were, obviously they weren´t demons nor spirits. He didn´t know what to call them or the other creatures that lived in this world. Sakrol wanted to learn these things so he could be much better prepared for things to come and increase his survival chance in battles. He then stand up and decided to find a place to learn these things, he walked out of the building and started to search for a good library in the city.
